Elsie joined the Atwater group in 2023. She got her undergraduate degree in Integrated Science at McMaster University in Canada. She then moved to the Netherlands to complete her MSc in Applied Physics at TU Delft, focusing on quantum communication. After a year at the European Space Agency, she is now working on her PhD in physics at Caltech. A part of the Space Solar Power Project, she works on developing thin film silicon solar cells for space/satellite applications.
